Updater

It may be run on any Internet connected RISC OS machine to receive announcements of updates to various elements of the machine, though it will only deliver those updates into an IYONIX pc (or by special arrangement into a nearby RISC OS machine).

The current version is 1.20.

!IyoUpWtch periodically checks while you are connected to the Internet for announcements relating to various software elements and applications installed on your IYONIX pc, if a relevant announcement is found !IyoUpWtch will open a window to tell you.

Within this window, clicking on the 'More...' button will open a 'Fetcher' window. This lists relevant items to be downloaded into your IYONIX pc. Clicking on the 'Don't tell me again' button will cause !IyoUpWtch to omit announcements on this subject until there is a change in the information there.

Within the 'Fetcher' window will be listed all relevant updates, together with a brief description of each. Click the 'Fetch' button and save the file offered to disc. The 'Fetcher' window will let you fetch, and save, 3 items concurrently. Additional 'Fetcher' windows may be run alongside this.

The files saved to disc are ZIP archive files which will open when doubleclicked. The IYONIX pc is shipped with a read-only version of !SparkFS which is used for this. Inside the ZIP file you will either find the !DoUpdate application, or other instructions on what to do. If the !DoUpdate application fails to open a help window automatically, point at it with the mouse pointer, press the middle mouse button, and select the help entry.
