PCI Slots

The IYONIX pc has four PCI expansion slots. The slots use 3.3 volt signalling, so accept only Universal or 3.3V expansion cards. The older 5V cards are not supported (and will not fit the sockets due to the keying slot arrangement).

Slots 0 and 1 are 64-bit for high bandwidth applications.

Slots 2 and 3 are 32-bit, 33MHz slots. Only variable height short cards will fit in these slots when the Acorn podule backplane is fitted. If the backplane is removed, standard length cards can be installed.

Please note that PCI expansion cards can only be used if appropriate RISC OS drivers are available. These can either be loaded from disc, or from a PCI card's on-board ROM.
